Venkateswarlu, Managing Director, Neuheit Pharma Technologies Private Ltd, Kukatpally, Hyderabad, Telangana addressed the professional gathering on issues related to pharmaceutical technology and sciences including Surface modified solid-lipid nanodelivery: Development, characterization, in vivo biodistribution and tumor efficacy of Paclitaxel nanome™ and nano herbal formulation and its current status in pharmaceutical market.

Manish Kumar, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Balaji Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Narsampet; Dr. V. Mehender Reddy, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Sahasra Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Warangal; Dr. P. Prof. Alekha Dash told that the application of nanotechnology in medicine for addressing medical and health-related issues has shown tremendous progress over the last few decades. Because of their unique small size, nanomaterials exhibit novel chemical, physical, and biological properties that are distinct from bulk materials. Nanomedicine is not limited to pharmaceutical formulation but it has applications that span a multitude of areas including drug delivery, diagnosis and imaging, wearable devices, implants, personalized medicine, and high-throughput screening platforms. Prof. Dash also discussed  that liposomal doxorubicin (DoxilTM) was the first anti-cancer nanomedicine approved in 1996 and after that, many additional drugs have been approved and are at various stages of their development. During the valedictory function, Mr. A. Jayarami Reddy, Associate Professor, VIPSW, Vijayawada was conferred with ‘Best Performer Award’ and Prof. K. Padmalatha, Principal, VIPSW was honored with ‘Appreciation Award’ by Prof. Alekha K. Association of Pharmacy Professionals Gujarat State Branch and APP American International Branch jointly organized two-days virtual 11th Indo-US Virtual Conference on “Global Trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences” at B. Pharmacy College, Rampura, Kakanpur, Godhra, Gujarat on December 28-29, 2020, in collaboration with APP MolPharm Division.

Scientific session of the conference was started with welcome address by Patron & Organizing Secretary and description of the objective of the conference was given by the President APP and President, APP American International Branch. Inaugural remarks were delivered and scientific session-1 was opened by the Chief Guest. Session was conducted on 28th December that included lectures of Dr. Shivkanya Fuloria, Joint Secretary, APP Malaysian International Branch from Faculty of Pharmacy, AIMST University, Semeling, Bedong, Kedah, Malaysia and Dr. Gaurav Gupta, National Head, APP MolPharm Division from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur, Rajasthan on topics ‘Endophytes: The Important Source of Bioactive Moieties‘ and ‘Application of Green Chemistry in Pharmaceutical Industry‘ respectively. Scientific session-1 was chaired by Prof. Ankit B. Chaudhary from Department of Quality Assurance, Saraswati Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dhanap, Gandhinagar, Gujarat and Dr. Saurabh Dahiya from Department of Quality Assurance, DIPSAR, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, New Delhi.
Scientific session-2 was opened by General Secretary APP and President, APP Gujarat State Branch and conducted on 29th December that included lectures of Dr. Isha Patel, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Administration and Research, Marshall University, School of Pharmacy, Huntington, West Virginia, USA; Dr. Jyoti Shrivastava, Vice President, APP Karnataka State Branch from the Oxford College of Pharmacy, Hongasandra, Bangalore, Karnataka on topics ‘Public Health Strategies to address COVID-19 Challenges: Perspectives from India and United States‘ and ‘Future of Pharmacy – Things to be Considered after Covid 19 Pandemic‘ respectively. Scientific session-2 was chaired by Prof. Nehal J. Shah, Principal, Indubhai Patel College of Pharmacy and Research Centre, Dharmaj, Gujarat.
During the valedictory function, President APP announced awards in different areas. In regional awards category, Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur, Rajasthan was conferred with ‘APP Research & Publication Grant Award‘ of Rs 1.25 Lakhs for research project entitled ‘Pharmacological Evaluation of Baicalin on Fluoride Induced Organ Toxicity in Experimental Animals’ and Ms. Ramninder Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana, Punjab was conferred with ‘Best Research Scholar Award‘ for her key research output. In local awards, Ms. Nirmaben V. Chavda, Assistant Professor of Quality Assurance, B. Pharmacy College, Rampura was conferred with ‘Best Teacher Award‘; Ms. Divya A. Patel, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, B.
