INDO-US SYMPOSIUM

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Telangana State Branch organized a Indo-US Symposium on “Novel Trends and Challenges in Drug Design, Discovery and Development” at Mother Teresa College of Pharmacy, Ghatkesar, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Telangana on 3rd December 2014. Seminar was inaugurated by Prof. R. Shyam Sundar, Dean, Department of Pharmacy, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana as the ‘Chief Guest’; Prof. Ravinder Nath Anisetti, Department of Biotechnology and Pharmacy, Osmania University, Hyderabad and Dean, Development and UGC Affairs as ‘Guest of Honor’; Sh. K. Venkat Reddy, Chairman, Mother Teresa Group of Colleges, Ranga Reddy, Telangana as ‘Patron’; Prof. A. Muralidhar Rao, President, APP Telangana State Branch and Principal, Maheshwara Institute of Pharmacy, Patancheru as ‘Co-convener’; Prof. Jithan V. Aukunuru, Secretary, APP Telangana State Branch and Principal, Mother Teresa College of Pharmacy, Ghatkesar as ‘Organizing Secretary’ and Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, President APP and Principal, Globus College of Pharmacy, Bhopal (MP) as ‘Convener and Organizing Chairman’.
Felicitation of the ‘Chief Guest’ was done by Chairman of Mother Teresa Group of Colleges, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad. At the end of the inauguration, President APP, President & Secretary of APP Telangana State Branch made the gathering aware of goals and targets of Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) to achieve in the upcoming year 2015.
Scientific session of the event was initiated with inaugural lecture of Dr. Priyanka M. Jadhav, Post Doctoral Research Associate, Diabetes Center of Excellence, College of Medicine, University of Florida, United States who addressed the professional gathering on “Advancing Type 1 Diabetes Research: The Translational Way”. During the symposium, Dr. Jadhav was conferred with “APP Appreciation Award” by Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, President APP for her active role in diabetic research.
Another speaker, Prof. Ravinder Nath Anisetti from Department of Biotechnology and Pharmacy, Osmania University, Hyderabad, delivered a talk on the topic “Drug-Device Combination for NDDS – Design of Medicated Derma Sticks”. After the talk of Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, last lecture was delivered by Dr. Palanisamy Selvamani from Center for excellence in Nanobio Translational Research, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Anna University, BIT Campus, Trichy, Tamil Nadu who addressed the crowd on “Peptide Antibiotics: Potent Source of Leads for Pharmaceutical Drug Discovery and Development”.
Followed by invited talks, Mr. T. Ramchander, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Mother Teresa College of College, Hyderabad was honored with “APP Best Teacher Award” and Ms. T. Pavani, B.Pharm 4th year student of hosting institute was honored with “APP Best Student Award” by Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) during the event.
The symposium was witnessed by Prof. Krishna Mohan Chinnala, Dean, School of Pharmacy, Nala Narasimha Reddy Education Society’s Group of Institutions, Ghatkesar, Ranga Reddy; members of APP Telangana State Branch, together with staff and students of Mother Teresa College of Pharmacy, Ghatkesar and Deccan School of Pharmacy, Darussalam, Aghapura, Hyderabad. Programme was ended with vote of thanks by Prof. Jithan Venkata Aukunuru, principal of the hosting college.

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Telangana State Branch organized Indo-African Symposium on ‘Pharmaceutical Nanosciences’ on 19th September, 2015, in collaboration with Department of Pharmaceutics, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, Tamilnadu, at college premise.
Symposium was inaugurated by Dr. Md. Afzal Khan, Vice Principal & Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty; Dr. R. Jothi Ramalingam, Professor, School of Natural Sciences, Wolaita Sodo University, Sodo, Ethiopia as ‘Special Guest’; Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, President, Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) and Principal, Globus College of Pharmacy, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh as ‘Organizing Chairman’; Dr. Suresh V. Chennupati, President, APP Andhra Pradesh State Branch and Principal, Nova College of Pharmacy, Jangareddygudem, West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh as ‘Guest of Honor’; Dr. B. Duraiswamy, Professor & Head, Dept. of Pharmacognosy and Phytomedicine, JSSCP, Ooty; Dr. K. Gowthamarajan, Professor & Head, Dept. of Pharmaceutics, JSSCP, Ooty as ‘Convener’ and Dr. N. Jawahar, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, JSSCP, Ooty as ‘Organizing Secretary’.
During the symposium, Dr. R. Jothi Ramalingam, Professor, School of Natural Sciences, Wolaita Sodo University, Sodo, Ethiopia and Dr. P. Suresh Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Anna University, BIT Campus, Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu, delivered lectures on topics related to nanotechnology like ‘Role of Nanotools in Natural Medicinal Compound Characterization and Potential of Nanoparticle in Health Science Development’ and ‘Nanoparticles and Its Antidiabetic Activities: An Overview’ respectively.
In the valedictory function, Dr. R. Jothi Ramalingam was conferred with ‘APP Young Performer Award’ and Mr. Vijayakumar Lakshminarayanan from Department of Biotechnology, BIT, Sathyamangalam, Erode was felicitated with ‘APP Fellowship Award’. Symposium ended with felicitation of Vice Principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, Tamilnadu with ‘APP Appreciation Award‘ on behalf of Prof. S. P. Dhanabal, Principal, JSSCP (Ooty) and Mr. Satya Rama Raju Ph.D Research Scholar, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty was conferred with “Mr. Manas Tripathi Memorial APP Outstanding Oration Award 2015” for his oral presentation.
This Indo-African Symposium was witnessed by Dr. M.R. Jeyaprakash (Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, JSSCP); Dr. Jubie S. (Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, JSSCP) and other faculties as well as post graduate students of JSSCP.

   
            

AINDO-US CONFERENCE

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Telangana State Branch organized 3rd Indo-US Conference on ‘Nanotechnology and Medicine: Challenges and Future Opportunities’ on 26th September, 2015 at Raja Bahadur Venkat Rama Reddy (RBVRR) Women’s College of Pharmacy, Barkatpura, Hyderabad, Telangana.
Event was inaugurated by Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, President, Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) and Principal & Professor, Globus College of Pharmacy, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh as ‘Organizing Chairman’; Dr. A. Muralidhar Rao, President, APP Telangana State Branch and Principal & Professor, Maheshwara Institute of Pharmacy, Patancheru, Hyderabad as ‘Convener’; Dr. Suresh V. Chennupati, President, APP Andhra Pradesh State Branch and Principal & Professor, Nova College of Pharmacy, Jangareddygudem, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh as ‘Guest of Honor’; Dr. Sumakanth M., Principal & Professor, RBVRR Women’s College of Pharmacy, Barkatpura, Hyderabad as ‘Organizing Secretary’; Dr. Khushwant S. Yadav, Postdoctoral fellow, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, The University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma, USA as ‘Special Guest’ from International Community.
Programme was started with ‘Deep Prajwalan‘ followed by welcome of all the guests on the dias, with bouquet of flowers. In the beginning, Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, President APP, made the professional gathering aware of aims and objectives of Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) and its future goals to achieve. Scientific session was initiated with keynote lecture of Dr. Khushwant Singh Yadav, Postdoctoral fellow, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, The University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma, United States of America, on ‘Nanomedicine in Treatment and Diagnosis of Cancer’. He told that nanomedicines are being explored as drug delivery agents for targeting cancer due to their easy tailoring properties and ability to efficiently encapsulate therapeutics of diverse nature through simple mechanisms. He also emphasized on the fact that nanomedicines are proficiently internalized by the target cells and minimizes harmful side effects. Dr. Khushwant Singh Yadav, doctorate from The M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, was conferred with ‘APP Young Achiever Award 2015’ for his outstanding achievements in abroad and India. Award was given by Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, President, Association of Pharmacy Professionals and Dr. A. Muralidhar Rao, President, APP Telangana State Branch.
Scientific session was continued with lecture of Dr. Prabhakar Reddy Veerareddy, Principal & Professor, College of Pharmacy, Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar, Telangana State, on topic ‘Nano Particulate Drug Delivery Systems‘. Dr. Veerareddy told that from about 20 years, researchers have appreciated the potential benefits of nanotechnology in providing vast improvements in drug delivery and drug targeting. He also discussed that improving delivery techniques that minimize toxicity and improve efficacy offers great potential benefits to patients, and opens up new markets for pharmaceutical and drug delivery companies. Focus on the development of innovative drug delivery systems for the treatment of severe chronic diseases such as cancer, leishmaniasis, ophthalmic and immunological disorders is required via nanotechnology platform. Dr. Prabhakar Reddy Veerareddy, post doctorate from Butler University, Unites State of America, was conferred with ‘APP Young Achiever Award 2015’ for his vital achievements in India and Abroad. Dr. Veerareddy was felicitated by Dr. Sumakanth M., Principal & Professor, RBVRR Women’s College of Pharmacy, Barkatpura, Hyderabad, Telangana.
Scientific session of this Indo-US conference was ended with lecture of Dr. A. Ravinder Nath, Dean, Development & UGC Affairs and Professor/Head, Department of Pharmacy, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana on the topic ‘Nano Bio-Pharmaceuticals as a Cutting Edge Therapeutics’. He told that nanotechnology enabled bio-pharmaceuticals are the most innovative and highly specialized alternative medicines for curing chronic diseases. Nanomaterials such as quantum dots, metallic nanoparticles, polymeric nanoparticles, nanofibers, carbon nanotubes, dendrimers and liposomes are ideal candidates for developing contrast agents for the cancer imaging, nanomedicines and drug delivery systems. Dr. A. Ravinder Nath, post doctorate from State University of New York, Stony Brook, Unites State of America, was conferred with ‘APP Young Achiever Award 2015’ for his outstanding achievements in India and abroad.
Conference was witnessed by Dr. T. Saritha Jyostna, Mr. J. Raghu Ram, Mrs. Sreedevi Kudaravalli and other faculties/students of Sarojini Naidu Vanita Pharmacy Mahavidyalaya, Hyderabad; Sultan-Ul-Uloom College of Pharmacy, Hyderabad; Osmania University, Hyderabad; RBVRR Women’s College of Pharmacy, Barkatpura, Hyderabad etc. Programme ended with distribution of APP life membership certificates and award certificates to poster presentees.

      
            

1zINDO-WEST INDIES CONFERENCE

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Telangana State Branch started scientific activities in the new year by organizing 1st Indo-West Indies Conference on ‘Expanding Boundaries in Pharmaceutical Research’ on 6th January, 2016 at Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Pharmacy Maha Vidyalaya, Hyderabad, Telangana. The event was witnessed by Dr. Madan Mohan Gupta from School of Pharmacy, The University of West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies as ‘Chief Guest‘; Sri P. Harinath Reddy, Chairman, Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Pharmacy Maha Vidhyala, Hyderabad as ‘Chief Patron‘; Dr. A. Muralidhar Rao, President, APP Telangana State Branch and Principal & Professor, Maheswara Institute of Pharmacy, Hyderabad as ‘Co-convener‘; Smt. Gupta from University of West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago, who addressed the gathering on “Troubleshooting the Flow Problem of Poorly Flowable Drug Powder by using Spherical Crystallization Technique and Making Suitable for Direct Compression“. Session was continued with lecture of  Sri. M. Rambabu, Chief Manager, Operations at Anacipher Clinical Research, Hyderabad, Telangana on the topic ‘Clinical Trials‘. Last lecture was delivered by Dr. Krishna Mohan Chinnala, Dean, School of Pharmacy, Nalla Narasimha Reddy Educational Society Group of Institutions, Hyderabad on ‘Revolutionising Medicine through Pharmacogenomics‘.
During the valedictory function, Sri P. Harinath Reddy, Chairman, Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Pharmacy Maha Vidhyala, Hyderabad; Smt. Vemuri Jyothi, Principal & Professor, Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Pharmacy Maha Vidhyala, Hyderabad were conferred with ‘APP Appreciation Awards‘.
Further, Ms. N. Prasanna Lakshmi from Sri Venkateswara College of Pharmacy, Hyderabad; Ms. Ashraf Ameena Khanam from Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Pharmacy Maha Vidhyala, Hyderabad and Ms. Sai Rasagnya from G. Pulla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Hyderabad won first, second and third awards in poster competition during the APP 1st Indo-West Indies Conference.

Event was witnessed by Dr. Sameer Dhingra, International Head, APP Clinical Pharmacy Division from School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies as ‘Guest from International Community’; Sri P. Subba Reddy, Chairman & Secretary, G. Pulla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad as ‘Chief Patron’; Dr. B. Madhav Reddy, Principal & Professor, G. Scientific session was continued with talk of Dr. Aravind Kumar Rengan, Assistant Professor, IIT, Hyderabad on the topic of ‘Nanomedicine: A Brave New World in Cancer Theranostics’. Scientific session was terminated with lecture of Dr. Sameer Dhingra from School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, who addressed the gathering on “Clinical Pharmacy Education and Practice in India: Current Challenges and Opportunities Ahead“.
Conference was attended and papers were presented in ‘oral’ session by more than 350 delegates from different institutions all over south and north India. During the valedictory function, Dr. Jithan Aukunuru, Associate Director, Aizant Drug Research Solutions, Hyderabad was nominated as ‘Vice President’ of APP Telangana State Branch 2016 and Dr. B. Madhav Reddy, Principal & Professor, G. Pulla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad was conferred with ‘APP Appreciation Award 2016’.

    
            

CINDO-AFRICAN CONFERENCE

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Telangana State Branch organized 8th Indo-African Conference on “Advances and Challenges in Pharmaceutical Technology and Biotechnology” in collaboration with APP Ethiopian International Branch at St. Pauls College of Pharmacy, Turkayamjal, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Telangana (India) on 1st September 2017. Conference was witnessed by Prof. Subas Chandra Dinda, President, APP Ethiopian International Branch from Mekelle University, Ethiopia as ‘Chief Guest’; Dr. J. Venkateswara Rao, Principal, St. Pauls College of Pharmacy, Turkayamjal as ‘Convener’; Dr. A. Muralidhar Rao, President, APP Telangana State Branch and Principal, Sarojini Naidu Vanita Pharmacy Mahavidyalaya, Hyderabad, Telangana as ‘Co-Convener’. Further, Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, President APP and Director, School of Pharmacy, FMS, The University of the West Indies, Trinidad & Tobago acted as ‘Organizing Chairman’; Dr. Sunita Dahiya, General Secretary APP acted as ‘Chairman Scientific Committee’ and Dr. Rita Mourya, Joint Secretray, APP Ethiopian Int. Branch acted as  ‘Co-Chairman Scientific Committee’ in absentia.
Scientific session of the event was initiated with invited lecture of Dr. Subas Chandra Dinda, President, APP Ethiopian International Branch and Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Mekelle University, Mekelle, Ethiopia, who addressed the gathering on “Nanotheranostics in Drug Targeting”. Another lecture was delivered by Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, Dean, Academic Affairs and OSD (Planning & Development), Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, Telangana on the topic “Research Proposal”. Prof. Ravinder Nath emphasized on the fact that the goal of a research proposal is to present and justify the need to study a research problem and to present the practical ways in which the proposed study should be conducted.
During this Indo-African Conference, APP best student award was conferred to Ms. Prerana, B.Pharm Final year student of the hosting college. At the end, appreciation award was conferred to the chairman of the St. Pauls College of Pharmacy and certificates of appreciation were presented to the speakers of the conference.

    
            

AINDO-AFRICAN CONFERENCE

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Ethiopian International Branch and Telangana State Branch organized 9th Indo-African Conference on ‘Global Trends and Recent Progress in Pharmaceutical Sector’ on 5th September, 2017 at Shri Vishnu College of Pharmacy, Bhimavaram, West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. Event was witnessed by Dr. Rita Mourya and Dr. Raja Abhilash Punagoti from University of Gondar, Ethiopia as ‘Chief Guests’; Sri K. V. Vishnu Raju, Chairman, Shri Vishnu Educational Society, Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh as ‘Chief Patron’; Dr. Suresh V. Chennupati, Vice President, APP Ethiopian International Branch and Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy, College of Health Sciences, Wollega University, Ethiopia as ‘Convener’; Dr. D. B. Raju, Director and Professor, Shri Vishnu College of Pharmacy, Bhimavaram, West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh as ‘Co-convener’; Dr. K. Prasad, Principal and Professor, Shri Vishnu College of Pharmacy, Bhimavaram, West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh as ‘Organizing Secretary’. Further, Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, President APP and Director, School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago acted as ‘Organizing Chairman’ and Dr. Sunita Dahiya, General Secretary APP acted as ‘Chairman-Scientific Committee’ of the conference in absentia.
Inauguration was started with ‘Prayer’ followed by welcome of all the guests on the dias with bouquet of flowers. Scientific session was initiated with invited lecture of Dr. Raja Abhilash Punagoti, Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, University of Gondar, Ethiopia, who addressed the gathering on ‘Essentials of cGMP’. Dr. Abhilash discussed that current good manufacturing practices (GMP) is a part of quality assurance which ensures that products are consistently produced and controlled to the quality standards appropriate to their intended use and as required by the marketing authorization.
Scientific session was continued with lecture of Dr. Rita Mourya from School of Pharmacy, University of Gondar, Ethiopia on the topic ‘Peptides and Proteins in Pharmaceutical Research: Biopotential and Challenges Ahead’. Dr. Mourya told that peptides are natural messenger molecules of the human body and hence ideal lead compounds for the initiation of drug discovery research. Dr. Mourya was honored with ‘APP Young Pharmacy Teacher Award 2017’ for her excellent academic achievements.
Session was ended with lecture of Prof. Krishna Mohan Chinnala, Dean, Nalla Narasimhareddy School of Pharmacy, Hyderabad, Telangana on the topic ‘Pharmacogenomics’. During the valedictory function, Sri K. V. Vishnu Raju, Chairman, Shri Vishnu Educational Society, Bhimavaram was conferred with ‘APP Appreciation Award’ by Dr. Suresh V. Chennupati. At the end, Mr. Sandeep Kumar Geddam, B. Pharmacy student of Vishnu Pharmacy College was conferred with ‘APP Best Student Award‘ by Dr. Mourya and Dr. Raja Abhilash from Ethiopia. Scientific session was continued with lecture of Dr. M. Himaja, Professor, Professor, Department of Chemistry, VIT University, Vellore, Tamilnadu, on the topic ‘Isolation and Identification Techniques for Bioactive Components from Some Edible/Medicinal Plants Responsible for Antiurolithiatic Activity’. Session was ended with lecture of Dr. Muralidhar Rao Akkaladevi, President, APP Telangana State Branch and Principal, St. Mary’s College of Pharmacy, Secunderabad, Telangana, on the topic ‘Principal and Applications of Nanoscience’. Prof. Rao discussed about natural products in drug discovery, herbal medicines, polyherbal formulations and clinical trials in natural products.
During the conference, posters were presented in several sections. In pharmacology and clinical pharmacy section, Mr. N. Ramanachari, Assistant Professor, MLR college of Pharmacy, Dundigal, Hyderabad won the first prize for his poster entitled ‘Influence of Resviratrol on Pharmacokinetics of Carbamazepine in Epileptic Rats’. Second prize was received by Ms. Saranya, Pharm D IV Year student of Malla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Secunderabad on the poster entitled ‘Screening and Isolation of Proteins producing Bacteria from Soil’. In Pharmaceutics section, first prize was won by Ms. Santhoshini, B.Pharm IV Year student of Malla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Secunderabad on the poster entitled ‘Formulation and Evaluation of Rutin loaded Nano Sponges’.

    
             

DINDO-AUSTRALIAN CONFERENCE

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Telangana State Branch organized a two-days 2nd Indo-Australian Conference on Recent Advances in Nanotechnology and Pharmaceutical Sciences” (RANPS-2017) on 28th-29th December 2017 at School of Pharmacy, Nalla Narasimha Reddy Education Society’s Group of Institutions, Chowdariguda, Ghatkesar, Hyderabad, Telangana in collaboration with APP Australian International Branch.
The inaugural session of the conference was graced by Sri T. Kailasam, Joint Director, Drug Control Administration, Telangana and Registrar, Telangana Pharmacy Council, as the ‘Chief Guest‘ and Dr. Kamal Dua, President, APP Australian International Branch from Discipline of Pharmacy, University of Technology Sydney, New South Wales, Australia as ‘Guest of Honor‘. Further, Sri Nalla Narasimha Reddy, Secretary, Nalla Narasimha Reddy Education Society (NNRES), Hyderabad acted as ‘Chief Patron‘; Dr. C.V. Krishna Reddy, Director, Nalla Narasimha Reddy Education Society’s Group of Institutions (NNRG), Hyderabad acted as ‘Patron‘; Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, Founder President APP and Director, School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago acted as ‘Organizing Chairman‘; Prof. Krishna Mohan Chinnala, Dean, School of Pharmacy, Nalla Narasimha Reddy Education Society’s Group of Institutions, Hyderabad acted as ‘Convener‘; Prof. A. Muralidhar Rao, President, APP Telangana State Branch and Principal, St. Mary’s College of Pharmacy, Secunderabad, Telangana acted as ‘Organizing Secretary‘; Dr. Sunita Dahiya, General Secretray APP from School of Pharmacy, University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, Puerto Rico, United States acted as ‘Scientific Committee Chairman‘;
Scientific session of the conference was enriched with keynote lecture of Dr. Kamal Dua from Discipline of Pharmacy, University of Technology Sydney, New South Wales, Australia who addressed the gathering on the topic ‘Nanotechnology – From Basics to the Recent Advances’. Dr. Dua discussed about the various formulation aspects along with the characterization and pharmaceutical applications of the nano drug delivery systems. He told that to achieve crucial features like bioavailability, stability, prolonged action and reduced dosing frequency etc. in a drug delivery system, the optimization of various physicochemical characteristics such as mean particle size, particle size distribution, particle morphology, zeta potential and rheological considerations are of utmost importance. After his lecture, Dr. Dua was felicitated with ‘Certificate of Recognition’ by Dr. Chinnala, the dean of the hosting school.
Another lecture was delivered by Prof. A. Muralidhar Rao, Principal, St. Mary’s College of Pharmacy, Secunderabad, Telangana on the topic ‘Concepts of Science of Small-Nano Science’. Dr. Rao told that nanotechnology is ideally suited for drugs with solubility problems. He further concluded that nanotechnology has the potential to give new breath of life to those bioactive natural products which were rejected due to their poor solubility. Scientific session was terminated with lecture of Prof. Saurabh Dahiya, President, APP Haryana State Branch and Head, Department of Pharmacy, Lingaya’s University, Faridabad, Haryana on the topic ‘Nano Pharmaceuticals: Good Practices and Regulatory Aspects’ on the second day of the conference.
The valedictory function was graced by Dr. Prabha Shankar, President, Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Telangana as the ‘Chief Guest’ and Prof. Saurabh Dahiya, President, APP, Haryana State Branch and Prof. A. Muralidhar Rao, President, APP Telangana State Branch as ‘Guests of Honor’. Prof. Krishna Mohan Chinnala, Dean, School of Pharmacy, NNRG, Hyderabad was awarded with ‘APP Distinguished Teacher Award 2017‘ during the conference. Dr. B. Sree Giri Prasad, Mr. K. Ravi Kumar and Mr. E. Madhan Mohan received ‘APP Best Achiever Award’, ‘APP Best Faculty Award’ and ‘APP Best Researcher Award’ respectively. Further, Ms. K. Manasa, B.Pharm (IV Year) student of hosting school received the ‘APP Best Student Award 2017‘ with complimentary APP life membership certificate. Also, 1st/2nd/3rd prizes were distributed to oral and poster presentees.

            
           

INDO-US CONFERENCE

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Telangana State Branch organized 3rd Indo-US Conference on “Innovative Strategies in Pharmaceutical Education and Research” on 28th July 2018 at Malla Reddy Pharmacy College, Maisammaguda, Dhulapally, Secunderabad, Telangana, in collaboration with APP Molecular Pharmacology Division. This APP-MRPC collaborative conference was witnessed by Sri Ch. The conference ended with vote of thanks and felicitation of Ms. Harsha Temker (Pharm.D) and Ms. Sirisha Mucharla (B.Pharm) of hosting college with APP Best Student awards.

            
          

NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Telangana State Branch and IIHMR University, Jaipur, Rajasthan jointly organized National Symposium on “Industry-Academia Interaction – Future of Pharmaceutical Industry vis a vis Pharmacy Education in India” at Hotel Swagath Grand, Hyderabad, Telangana on 6th March 2019. The event started with lightening of lamp and welcome of the guests with bouquet of flowers. During the symposium, Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, Vice Chairman, MILAP, Govt of Maharashtra and Ms. Apeksha Jaiswal, Group Product Manager, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Hyderabad addressed the professional gathering on concerns related to future of pharmaceutical industry and pharmacy education in India.
