(GSCPSN-2018)

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Tamilnadu State Branch and APP Malaysian International Branch organized 1st Indo-Malaysian Conference on “Global Scenario and Challenges in Pharmaceutical Sciences & NanoTechnology” at Malla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Maisammaguda, Dhulapally, Secunderabad, Telangana on 10th September 2018, in collaboration with APP Ethiopian International Branch.
The scientific event was witnessed by Sri Ch. Malla Reddy, Honourable Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha for Malkajgiri Constituency, Telangana and Chairman, Malla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Maisammaguda as ‘Chief Patron’; Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, Founder President APP and Director, School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago as ‘Organizing Chairman’; Prof. M. Sudhakar, Principal, Malla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Maisammaguda as ‘Convener’; Dr. K. Jaya Raja Kumar, President, APP Malaysian International Branch from Faculty of Pharmacy, AIMST University, Bedong, Semeling, Kedha, Malaysia and Prof. P. Shanmugasundaram, President, APP Tamilnadu State Branch and Director, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vels Deemed to be University, Chennai, Tamilnadu as ‘Co-conveners’ and Prof. A. Muralidhar Rao, President, APP Telangana State Branch and Principal, St. Mary’s College of Pharmacy, Secunderabad, Telangana as ‘Scientific Committee Chairman’.
Scientific session was initiated with lecture of Dr. Anil Tumkur Mruthyunjaya from Department of Pharmacy Practice, International Medical University, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia who addressed the gathering on ‘Patient reported outcome measurements‘. Other lectures were deilvered by Dr. Palanisamy Selvamani, Secretary, APP Tamilnadu State Branch from Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Anna University, BITS Campus, Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu and Dr. Suresh V. Chennupati, Vice President, APP Ethiopian International Branch from Department of Pharmacy, College of Medical & Health Sciences, Wollega University, Nekemte, Ethiopia. All the resource persons of the conference were felicitated with ‘Certificates of Appreciation’ after their lectures by the convener. During the valedictory function, Prof. M. Sudhakar, Principal, Malla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Maisammaguda was conferred with ‘APP Appreciation Award’ by Vice President, APP Ethiopian International Branch and Secretary, APP Tamilnadu State Branch. Programme terminated with distribution of best poster certificates and vote of thanks.

    
          

INDO-AFRICAN CONFERENCE
(GTITRHT-2018)

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Tamilnadu State Branch organized 15th Indo African Conference on “Global Trends & Innovations in Translational Research and Herbal Technology” at Vaagdevi Group of Pharmacy Colleges, Bollikunta, Warangal, Telangana on 19th September 2018.
This scientific event was organized in collaboration with APP Ethiopian International Branch and witnessed by Prof. Y. Madhusudhan Rao, Director, Vaagdevi Group of Pharmacy Colleges, Warangal, Telangana as ‘Convener’; Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, Founder President APP and Director, School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago as ‘Organizing Chairman’; Dr. Suresh V. Chennupati, Vice President, APP Ethiopian International Branch from Department of Pharmacy, College of Medical and Health Sciences, Wollega University, Nekemte, Ethiopia and Prof. P. Scientific session was enriched with lectures of Prof. M. Himaja, Vice President, APP Tamilnadu State Branch from Department of Chemistry, School of Advanced Sciences, VIT University, Vellore, Tamilnadu and Dr. Digambar Balkrishna Ambikar, Executive Member, APP Ethiopian International Branch from Department of Pharmacology, School of Pharmacy, College of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Gondar, Gondar, Ethiopia. All speakers of the conference were felicitated with ‘Certificates of Appreciation’ after lectures.
During the valedictory function, Prof. Y. Madhusudan Rao, Director, Vaagdevi Group of Pharmacy Colleges, Warangal, Telangana was conferred with ‘APP Life Time Achievement Award 2018’ by Dr. Suresh V. Chennupati, Vice President, APP Ethiopian International Branch from Wollega University, Nekemte, Ethiopia. Programme ended with vote of thanks and distribution of best student awards, best researcher award, best achiever award and best faculty awards to Mr. L. Santhosh, Mr. P. Rajashekhar, Dr. B. Chandra Shekhar Reddy, Smt. V. Padmaja, Dr. Durga Prasad Kemisetti and Dr. Kiran Kumar.

    
          

INDO-MALAYSIAN CONFERENCE
(ACSPS-2019)

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Tamilnadu State Branch organized 6th Indo-Malaysian Conference on “Advances and Current Scenario of Pharmaceutical Sciences” at Malla Reddy Pharmacy College, Secunderabad, Telangana on 9th March 2019, in collaboration with APP Malaysian International Branch and APP BioTech Division.
During this APP-MRPC collaborative conference, Sri Ch. Malla Reddy, Chairman, Malla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Maisammaguda, Secunderabad, Telangana ‘Chief Patron’; Prof. G. Tulja Rani, Principal, Malla Reddy College of Pharmacy, Secunderabad as ‘Convener‘; Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, Founder President APP and Director, School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago as ‘Organizing Chairman’; Dr. Sunita Dahiya, General Secretary APP from School of Pharmacy, University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, PR, USA as ‘Scientific Committee Chairman’ and Prof. A. Shanmugasundaram, President, APP Tamilnadu State Branch and Director, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vels Deemed to be University (VISTAS), Pallavaram, Chennai, Tamilnadu who addressed the professional gathering on diverse topics of pharmaceutical interest viz. Synthesis  and Evaluation of PCMX Derivatives with potential against Periodontitis, Buccal Films in treatment of Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders (OPMD).
During the valedictory function, Prof. G. Tulja RaniDr. K. Naresh, Dr. Sailaja GunnamMr. Jagadeeshwar KMrs. Anjali Gupta, Mrs. Mary Manoranjani Addanki and Ms. Polisetty Sushma were felicitated with Best Teacher Award, Young Pharmacist Award, Best Researcher Award, Best Achiever Award, Young Performer Award, Best Research Scholar Award, Best Student Award, respectively.
Programme ended with distribution of medals and certificates to Ms. Ishita Sharma, Ms. Yamuna Chaudhary(BNIPS, Udaipur), Mr. Moin Khan Pathan (B.R. Nahata College of Pharmacy, Mandsaur) and Ms. Prachi Agarwal (U.S. Ostwal Institute of Pharmacy, Mangalwad) who won best poster awards for their presentations on ‘Personalized medicine: an approach towards accuracy’, ‘Mosquito attractant’, ‘A perusal on ideal pharmacy educator’ and ‘Guanabana fruit is more stronger than chemotherapy’.

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Tamilnadu State Branch organized 8th Indo-US Conference on “Recent Strategies in Pharmaceutical Technology: Updates and Prospects” at Vijaya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences for Women, Enikepadu, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh on Dec 06, 2019, in collaboration with and APP American International Branch.
During this APP-VIPSW collaborative conference, Sri. B. S. Apparao, Chairman, SRK Foundation, Vijayawada acted as ‘Chief Patron’; Sri. B. S. Sri Krishna, Secretary, SRK Foundation, Vijayawada as ‘Patron’; Prof. K. Padmalatha, Principal, Vijaya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences for Women (VIPSW), Vijayawada as ‘Convener’; Prof. P. During the event, Prof. Alekha K. Dash, President, APP American International Branch from School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska, USA and Prof. S. Sathesh Kumar, Head, Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vels University (VISTAS), Pallavaram, Chennai, Tamilnadu addressed the professional gathering on issues related to pharmaceutical technology and sciences including Advances and challenges of nanomedicine.
Prof. Alekha Dash told that the application of nanotechnology in medicine for addressing medical and health-related issues has shown tremendous progress over the last few decades. Because of their unique small size, nanomaterials exhibit novel chemical, physical, and biological properties that are distinct from bulk materials. Nanomedicine is not limited to pharmaceutical formulation but it has applications that span a multitude of areas including drug delivery, diagnosis and imaging, wearable devices, implants, personalized medicine, and high-throughput screening platforms. Prof. Dash also discussed  that liposomal doxorubicin (DoxilTM) was the first anti-cancer nanomedicine approved in 1996 and after that, many additional drugs have been approved and are at various stages of their development. During the valedictory function, Mr. A. Jayarami Reddy, Associate Professor, VIPSW, Vijayawada was conferred with ‘Best Performer Award’ and Prof. K. Padmalatha, Principal, VIPSW was honored with ‘Appreciation Award’ by Prof. Alekha K. Dash, President, APP American International Branch for her hard untiring efforts for accomplishment of the conference.

“COMMEMORATION OF WORLD HEALTH DAY 2022”

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Tamilnadu State Branch organized 1st Indo-Japanese Virtual International Conference on “Recent Advances and Global Challenges in Pharmaceutical Field” at School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vels Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), Pallavaram, Chennai, Tamilnadu on April 09, 2022, in collaboration with APP Japanese International Branch and APP PharmEdu HealthCareManag Division, in commemoration of World Health Day 2022.

Scientific session I was chaired by Prof. P. Selvamani, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Anna University, BIT Campus, Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu and Prof. Suresh V. Chennupati, Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Nalanda College of Pharmacy, Nalgonda, Telangana whereas scientific session II was chaired by Prof. Subas C. Dinda, Department of Pharmaceutics, Teerthanker Mahaveer School of Pharmacy, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh and Dr. Vetriselvan Subramaniyan, Deputy Dean and Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, MAHSA University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Lecture session was followed by ‘Oral Competition’ which was conducted in memory of ‘Late Prof. Jainendra Jain’ where five participants viz. Dr. Sujit Kumar Sah, Dr. Ravina Ravi, Ms. Priya J. Aradhya, Dr. Ann Vazhayil Kuruvilla, Ph.D Research Scholars, Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, JSSAHER Deemed to be University, Mysore, Karnataka and Ms. P. Naga Haritha, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, St Pauls College of Pharmacy, Turkayamjal, Ranga Reddy, Telangana delivered orations on topics like “Assessment of Drug-Drug Interactions and Their Associated Risk Factors in Patients with Systemic Autoimmune Disorders: A Cross-Sectional Study”; “A Clinical Pharmacist-Assisted Medication Incident Reporting System in a Tertiary Care Teaching Hospital”; “A Clinical Pharmacist-Led Assessment of Medication-Related Problems in Critical Care Units of a Tertiary Care Hospital”; “A Clinical Pharmacist Driven Initiation of Handshake Antibiotic Stewardship Programme in Surgery Units of a Tertiary Care Hospital”; “Solubility Enhancement of Gliclazide by Solid Dispersion Technique and Formulation as Fast Dissolving Tablets” etc. Winner of the Late Prof. Jainendra Jain Memorial Outstanding Oration Award was Dr. Ann Vazhayil Kuruvilla, Ph.D Research Scholar, Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, JSSAHER Deemed to be University, Mysore, Karnataka and Runner-Up Appreciation Award was received by Dr. Ravina Ravi, Research Scholar, Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, JSSAHER Deemed to be University, Mysore, Karnataka. Oration Competition was chaired by Prof. K. Karthickeyan (Department of Pharmacy Practice, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, VISTAS, Pallavaram, Chennai, Tamilnadu); Prof. S. V. Chennupati (Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Nalanda College of Pharmacy, Nalgonda, Telangana) and Dr. Natarajan Jawahar (Department of Pharmaceutics, JSS College of Pharmacy, Rocklands, Ooty, Tamilnadu).
During the valedictory function, Dr. Vetriselvan Subramaniyan, Deputy Dean and Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, MAHSA University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was conferred with ‘Young Investigator Award’ for his outstanding research output in pharmacological sciences and Dr. Somnath De, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, St. Pauls College of Pharmacy, Turkayamjal, Abdullapurmet, Ranga Reddy, Telangana was felicitated with ‘APP Fellow Membership Award 2022’ for his outstanding professional activities. In addition, seven talented students from outer states viz. Mr. Abhishek Wahi, B.Pharm Student, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, New Delhi; Mr. Anshuman Prajapati, B.Pharm Student, Nand Kishore College of Pharmacy, Naini, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh; Ms. Anwesa Mohanty, B.Pharm Student, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha; Mr. Mukund Joshi, B.Pharm Student, U.S. Ostwal Institute of Pharmacy, Mangalwad, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan; Ms. Farheen Shakir, M.Pharm Student, Department of Pharmaceutics, Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Pharmacy, Jaipur, Rajasthan; Ms. Anmaria Thomas, Pharm.D Intern, JSS College of Pharmacy, JSSAHER Deemed to be University, Mysore, Karnataka and Mrs. Surbhi Sharma, Ph.D Research Scholar, Department of Zoology, Sai School of Bio Sciences, Sri Sai University, Palampur, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, were honored with ‘APP Best Student Awards’ for their outstanding academic potential.
All the speakers and guests of conference were felicitated with ‘Certificate of Appreciations‘ at the end. Also scientific orations/posters were presented by students of hosting institute and surrounding pharmacy institutions. Winners of e-poster competition were Ms. G. Sai Pooja, Ms. M. Vinisha and Ms. A.D. Darshini, Pharm.D III year students from SPS, VISTAS, Pallavaram; Ms. D. Bhuvaneshwari (B.Pharm IV year) from Jaya College of Pharmacy, Thiruninravur, Chennai. Winners of oral presentation competition remained Mr. Niranjan, Ms. Sandhya AM, Ms. Sanjana Arun, Pharm.D students, VISTAS; Mr. Arun P, Mr. John Andrew, Ms. Trinita Debe, M.Pharm Students, SPS , VISTAS and Mr. Ramachandran, Mrs. Afroz Patan, Mr. Vipul Dhashede, Ph.D Scholars, VISTAS, Pallavaram, Chennai. Appreciation awards were won by Mr. Deepak M, M.Pharm Student, SPS, VISTAS, Pallavaram and Mrs. Indumathy, Assistant Professor, SPS, VISTAS in e-poster and oration categories. Conference ended with vote of thanks by Prof. S. Sathesh Kumar, HOD, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, VISTAS, Pallavaram, Chennai, Tamilnadu.
