 APP DELHI STATE BRANCH  INDO-CARIBBEAN CONFERENCE

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Delhi State Branch organized 2nd Indo-Caribbean Conference on “Advanced Trends in Medicinal Chemistry, Drug Discovery, Designing & Development” on July 21, 2018 at MM College of Pharmacy, Maharishi Markandeshwar Deemed to be University (MMDU), Mullana, Ambala, Haryana, in collaboration with APP West Indies International Branch.
During this APP-MMCP collaborative conference, Shri Tarsem Kumar Garg, Hon’ble Chancellor, MMDU Trust acted as ‘Chief Patron‘; Prof. Vipin Saini, Vice Chancellor, MMDU, Solan, Himachal Pradesh as ‘Patron‘; Dr. Sunita Dahiya, General Secretary, Association of Pharmacy Professionals as ‘Convener‘; Prof. Mohammed Ali, President, APP Delhi State Branch and Ex-Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi as ‘Co-Convener‘; Dr. Prerna Sarup from MM College of Pharmacy, MMDU, Mullana as ‘Organizing Secretary‘; Dr. Randhir Singh Dahiya, Professor, MM College of Pharmacy, MMDU, Mullana as ‘Coordinator’; Dr. Rita Mourya from School of Pharmacy, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Gondar, Gondar, Ethiopia as ‘Scientific Committee Chairman’.
Scientific session of the conference was initiated with lecture of Dr. Mymoona Akhter, Secretary, APP Delhi State Branch from Faculty of Pharmacy, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi who addressed the gathering on ‘Identification of a Novel Lead against M. tuberculosis DHFR by using Structure Based Drug Design’. The other key speakers were Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, Director, School of Pharmacy, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago and Dr. Sunita Dahiya from Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, PR, USA who addressed the gathering on diverse topics of pharmaceutical interest.
Conference was witnessed by Prof. R. K. Goel, President, APTI Punjab State Branch from Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research, Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab; Prof. Partha Roy, Department of Biotechnology, IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand; Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Surender Verma from Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana. The conference ended with felicitation of Dr. Manisha Bhatia, Dr. Girish Kumar Gupta, Dr. Anuj Malik, Mr. Samrat Chauhan, Mr. Udit Kapoor and Ms. Anushruti from MM College of Pharmacy, MMDU, Mullana, Haryana with APP Best Achiever Award, Best Researcher Award, Best Teacher Award, Best Research Scholar Award, Best Student Awards respectively. Further, Dr. Randhir Singh Dahiya, Professor, MM College of Pharmacy, MMDU, Mullana, Ambala was nominated as ‘Joint Secretary’ of APP Haryana State Branch.

Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP) Delhi State Branch organized 16th Indo-US Virtual International Conference on “Global Trends and Opportunities in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology” at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Madhav University, Sirohi, Rajasthan on December 23, 2021 on the occasion of ‘Kishan Diwas‘, in collaboration with APP American International Branch and APP BioTech Division. During this APP-MU collaborative conference, Dr. Rajkumar Rana, Chairman, Madhav University, Pindwara, Sirohi, Rajasthan and Prof. S. N. Sharma, Chancellor, Madhav University, Pindwara, Sirohi acted as ‘Chief Patron’; Prof. Govind Singh, Vice Chancellor, Madhav University, Pindwara, Sirohi as ‘Patron’; Prof. Mrunal K. Shirsat, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Madhav University, Sirohi as ‘Convener’; Prof. Ajay Sharma, President, APP Delhi State Branch from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, Pushp Vihar, New Delhi as ‘Co-Convener’; Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, Director, School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies as ‘Organizing Chairman’ and Prof. Somnath De, Department of Pharmacology, St. Pauls College of Pharmacy, Turkayamjal, Ranga Reddy, Telangana as ‘Scientific Committee Chairman’.
Scientific sessions of the conference were enriched with lectures of Dr. Sunita Dahiya, Assistant Professor, School of Pharmacy, University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, San Juan, PR, USA; Dr. Nehal J. Shah, Principal & Professor, Indubhai Patel College of Pharmacy and Research Centre (IPCPRC), Dharmaj, Anand, Gujarat and Dr. Madhu Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, Pushp Vihar, New Delhi, who addressed the professional gathering on topics like ‘Development and Pathways for Covid-19 Vaccine Approval: Global Perspective’, ‘Biopolymers: A Natures’ Tool for Wound Healing Therapy’. All the speakers of conference were honored with ‘Certificate of Appreciations‘ at the end of their lectures.
During the valedictory function, Prof. Mrunal K. Shirsat, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Madhav University, Sirohi was conferred with ‘Distinguished Teacher Award 2021’ in male category; Prof. Deepa Gupta, Principal, Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Pharmacy, Jaipur, Rajasthan honored with ‘Distinguished Teacher Award 2021’ in female category; Dr. Hemendra Gautam, Director, Arya College of Pharmacy, Nawabganj, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh felicitated with ‘Principal of the Year Award 2021’; Dr. Bhupender S. Chhikara, Assistant Professor, University of Delhi, New Delhi felicitated with ‘Young Achiever Award’ for their outstanding service in the profession. At national level, the names of Ms. Salona Devnath Roy, B.Pharm Student, SSR College of Pharmacy, Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli; and Ms. Apeksha Shrivastava, Ph.D Scholar, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi were announced for ‘Distinguished Student Awards 2021‘ in undergraduate and research scholar categories. Also, the names of Ms. Vidya Kumari, B.Pharm Student, St. Pauls College of Pharmacy, Turkayamjal, Ranga Reddy, Telangana and Ms. Nalla Ushakumari, B.Pharm Student, VJ’s College of Pharmacy Rajahmundry, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh were announced for ‘Best Student Awards‘ in outer state undergraduate category. Dr. Ritu Kataria, Principal, G.V.M. College of Pharmacy, Sonipat, Haryana was felicitated with ‘APP Outstanding Oration Award‘ for her oration on ‘In-silico Design of Urease Inhibitors from Natural Phenolic Constituents‘. This award was provided in the memory of Late Dr. Abhilash Thomas. Moreover, two other orations were presented by Dr. Sachinkumar V. Patil, Principal, Ashokrao Mane College of Pharmacy, Peth-Vadgaon, Hatkanagale, Kolhapur, Maharashtra on ‘Formulation and Evaluation of Fruit Pulp Powder of Cordia Dichotoma as a Binder in Tablet Dosage Form’ and Dr. Jenny Samuel, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, St. Josephs College of Pharmacy, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Kerala on ‘Suicide Prevention in Society – A study on the Social Commitment of Community Pharmacists’ and conferred with ‘Appreciation Awards‘. Further, among the hosting college faculty, Mr. Manish Dubey, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Madhav University, Pindwara, Sirohi, Rajasthan was felicitated with ‘Best Achiever Award’ in recognition of his key teaching and research output.
